Recently I watched some episodes from season 2 again. When Wesley is on the phone with Cordelia and he tells her that things will get better for everyone, it made me feel really sad for them. By the end of the series things have turned out the worst for exactly those two, making that scene a lot more meaningful when you got back to it.
